Hospitality · 2023
The canteen of a 1920s printing house became a neighbourhood restaurant with a stubbornly loyal following. We kept the cast-iron columns and the honest ceiling height, then layered in timber slats, sage tiles and terracotta pendants — materials that make conversation quieter and food look better.
Everything the guests touch was made for the room: the oak tables by our Wedding workshop, the bentwood chairs re-caned by hand, the bar that runs the length of the room in hand-glazed tile.
Residential · 2023
A 1970s villa on the lake, gutted and re-planned around the view. The living room opens fully to the water; inside, a stone fireplace anchors a room of linen sofas and pale oak. In summer the glass walls disappear; in winter the room folds in around the fire.
The clients wanted a house that felt older than it is. We obliged with lime plaster, solid oak floors and a joinery detail vocabulary borrowed from the villa's original woodwork.
Workspace · 2022
A planning consultancy wanted an office people would choose over the home office — without the start-up clichés. The result is deliberately domestic: linen-wrapped acoustic panels, a travertine wall, oak tables long enough for real conversations, and light everywhere.
Two years in, attendance is up and the meeting rooms are the most fought-over resource in the company. The client credits the acoustics; we suspect the coffee corner with the built-in banquette.
Residential · 2024
A weekend house in the dunes, designed to be lived in with wet boots and sandy towels. Pale oak walls, sheepskin throws, a navy linen sofa around the stove, and a round window that frames the sea like a painting that changes hourly.
Materials were chosen for the North Sea climate and the family's rhythm: everything is washable, everything is warm, nothing is precious. The house survives both the storms and the grandchildren.
Residential · 2025
A listed Gründerzeit apartment on the corner of Arkonaplatz, where the challenge was subtraction: removing two later partition walls to let the 4-metre ceilings and the arched window finally do their work.
The palette stays close to the plaster — bone, sand, terracotta — with a curved bouclé sofa that answers the arch of the window. A quiet apartment for a couple who wanted less furniture and more room to breathe.
