A House Built on Light
In 1972, the Ferdows family transformed a 19th-century Qajar-era garden house on the edge of old Tehran into a place of welcome. They kept the pomegranate trees, the tiled pools and the courtyard's quiet — and added a guesthouse of hand-cut travertine and walnut.
Five decades later, Ferdows Grand remains a family hotel in the truest sense. The original garden still anchors the property; the same standards of discreet, anticipatory hospitality guide a new generation of the family and a staff of two hundred.
