The plain-language version
Privacy, without fine print.
Effective August 7, 2026
Your private files should remain private. Aevum is designed around that principle: content is encrypted on your device before it reaches our infrastructure, and we collect only the information needed to operate and improve the service.
1. Information you give us
When you create or manage an account, we may receive your name, email address, plan selection, billing details, support messages, and the names of people you choose to invite. Payment card information is processed by our payment provider and is not stored on Aevum systems.
2. Information created through use
We collect limited operational data such as device type, app version, sign-in times, approximate region, storage usage, sync health, and feature interactions. This helps us secure accounts, diagnose failures, and understand which parts of Aevum need improvement.
3. Your files
File content is end-to-end encrypted before upload. Aevum does not use private file content for advertising, model training, audience profiling, or content recommendations. We store encrypted blocks and the minimum encrypted metadata required to sync your library.
4. How information is used
- Provide syncing, sharing, recovery, billing, and support.
- Protect accounts and investigate attempted abuse.
- Measure reliability and improve product performance.
- Send essential service notices and optional updates you request.
- Meet legal obligations that apply to account information we can access.
5. When information is shared
We use carefully selected providers for infrastructure, payments, customer support, and transactional email. They may process only the information required to perform their service and must protect it contractually. We do not sell personal information.
6. Retention and deletion
Account information remains while your account is active. After closure, encrypted file blocks enter a deletion queue and are removed from active systems within 30 days, then age out of encrypted disaster-recovery backups. Some billing and security records may be retained where law or fraud prevention requires it.
7. Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete account information from Aevum settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. Email privacy@aevum.cloud to make a request.
8. Cookies
The public website uses only essential preferences and anonymous performance measurement. The Aevum app uses secure session storage required to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will explain what changed before it takes effect. Earlier versions remain available on request.
10. Contact
Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@aevum.cloud. Aevum Cloud Ltd. acts as the controller for account information described here.
